Strategy

What Design Can Do Amsterdam is an international design conference that brings together designers, innovators, and changemakers to explore how design can address social and environmental challenges. This project focused on creating visual content that could communicate the energy, purpose, and global nature of the event. The goal was to design engaging digital and physical visuals that would maintain a consistent identity across platforms such as social media, event screens, and the venue environment while helping audiences stay informed and excited about the conference.

Design

The visual content was developed to be bold, dynamic, and easy to understand across different formats. I worked closely with the Communications and Programmes teams to design animated and static visuals such as countdown posts, speaker announcements, and theme reveal content for social media. These visuals were designed to maintain consistency with the event’s branding while keeping the content engaging for online audiences. Alongside digital assets, I also created wayfinding signage for the event venue to help visitors navigate the space easily. During the event, I supported live content creation and later produced a highlight reel that captured key moments, speakers, and the overall atmosphere of the conference.

Results

The visuals helped strengthen the event’s identity and increased engagement both online and at the venue. The highlight reel received positive feedback from the team and led to further collaboration, including creating the “Save the Date” animation for What Design Can Do Mexico 2025. The project provided hands-on experience in visual communication, event branding, and storytelling in a real-world international design environment.
